Bergamot Oil: Bergamot oil has a citrusy scent that can uplift one's mood and help relieve stress. It is often added to stress-relieving blends due to its potential properties of alleviating symptoms from anxiety and promoting peacefulness.
Ylang Ylang Oil: With its sweet, floral smell, this oil acts as a natural sedative to calm the nervous system, heart rate, and reduce overall stress.
Essential oils, though powerful, need to be used responsibly to avoid skin irritation and other adverse effects, including:
1. Dilution: Essential oils, in reality, have to be diluted with a carrier oil, such as coconut or jojoba oil, before being applied to the skin.
2. Diffusion: Essential oils can be released in the air by using a diffuser, another effective modality of achieving calming effects without potential side effects.
3. Patch Test: Before completing the application, make a patch test for sensitivities to the skin.
